Four-time EMMY-award-winner Julie Bernstein …
has worked in animation as a composer, orchestrator, arranger, conductor, singer and producer. Animated series include Animaniacs Reboot, Animaniacs, The Boys:Diabolical (Laser Baby’s Day Out), Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Histeria!, Tiny Toons Adventures, Baby Looney Toons, Make Way for Noddy, BYUTV’s Studio C, Disney’s One Saturday Morning, Toonsylvania, the features Wakko’s Wish, Tom and Jerry: Blast Off to Mars, and the theatrical short “Carrotblanca”. Her songs and arrangements can be heard on the CDs Yakko’s World, Animaniacs and Tweety’s High-Flying Adventure. Her work has been played by the Cleveland Youth Orchestra, the Kentucky Symphony and the COTA Symphony. Julie’s arrangement of “Little Green” by Joni Mitchell, written for the Turtle Island String Quartet and Tierney Sutton, can be heard on Ms. Sutton’s Grammy-nominated album After Blue. Julie’s concert music includes “Snapshots” for oboe, cello and soprano, commissioned by the Young Musicians Foundation for YMF’s “Living the Legacy” award, co-written with her husband, Steven Bernstein. The piece was a semi-finalist for The American Prize in chamber music. Other collaborations with her husband include orchestrations for the very popular stage production Animaniacs Live!, performed by the Colorado Symphony and the La Mirada Symphony. Nominated for two Annie awards, 18 Emmys and an HMMA (Hollywood Music in Media Award), Julie has won four Emmy awards for her work on Histeria! and Animaniacs. She also won the 1996 Network Award for Music Package/Sound Design for her arrangement and orchestration of the Warner Brothers interstitial Crazy Careers.
Julie has written numerous arrangements for string quartet and voice, including “A Place That You Want to Call Home” on the double album Pictures of America, recorded in Paris by world renowned singer Natalie Dessay and members of the Paris Mozart Orchestra.
